About me

Hi, I’m Kate!

I believe our sense of self and how we feel develops according to our life experiences from an early age, and how we spend our days now.

By nurturing our souls, listening to our bodies and addressing our habits we give our true selves space to be.

We can heal our past, through spending time and energy in the here and now in ways that nourish and support our true self.

We grow into the best version of ourselves through daily presence, awareness, self compassion and acceptance.

This can be harder than it sounds, so I am here to help you cultivate the meaningful life you can grow and thrive in.

Let your light shine!

My Work

I am a psychotherapist with 16 years experience, I grew up in Bristol, U.K. and studied Zoology at Manchester University. I achieved my 3 year Prof. Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2008. I later completed a Masters in Contemporary Gestalt Psychotherapy in London. Overall I trained for 8 years, and work integratively.

I trained to work with individuals, couples and adolescents, gathering a raft of tools which I used in my one to one therapy work until 2021, when Covid led me to change the shape of my life and work.

I found a new way to be of service and started the Letters from Therapy Membership.
I love to write and run a small creative business. As well as being a mum to a teenager I treasure long walks with my dog, reading, and time by the sea.

Other Influences

While working as a therapist I restored my sense of self and liveliness on annual silent meditation retreats, somatic work, and many of the tools I share with you in the membership.

I, too needed to cultivate the self compassion and meaning I needed for my life and work.

The practices that I share in the course are those that helped my clients in the therapy room. Most from my psychotherapy training and work, some CBT, some clinically proven spiritual practices like mindfulness and visualisations, and inspiration from the outside world.

Recovering from more than a year with Long Covid was a humbling relief, though it put an end to my therapy work. Instead, I turned many elements of my work into these therapeutic courses.

I hope you’ll join me!

Kate
